Even if you enjoy slick displays of virtuoso trumpet-playing, I would not recommend this disc of Baroque transcriptions – a travesty of the genre. The vacuity of Sauter’s playing, utterly devoid of musical expression or stylistic propriety, is matched only by the shallowness of Timm’s organ accompaniments. Deborah Calland
