Delage

Best remembered for his atmospheric Quatre PoËmes hindous, recorded most memorably by Baker and von Otter, this close confidante of Ravel deserves greater recognition given the evident qualities of the rest of his songs. The present release should certainly help, though Timpani surely missed a golden opportunity by not providing the prescribed chamber instrumental accompaniments for some songs. Erik Levi
