With this disc Crossley concludes his survey of Debussy. It ties up some loose ends, with nothing longer than the Suite bergamasque to provide focus, yet this is perhaps the most successful disc of the series. It has less of the introspection of earlier performances, though the piano sound has not been recorded with the immediacy provided for Joanna MacGregor in the same venue (see left). Matthew Rye
