Joy

Mark d’Inverno is an academic who has been playing the piano since the age of seven. He’s also been quite active on the British jazz scene, and he has two of the current young lions, Andy Hamill and Steve Brown, on bass and drums in his excellent trio. D’Inverno is a fine pianist with a subtle touch and a lively flow of ideas.

The fare is a mixture of standards and originals performed with wit and panache. D’Inverno contributes two of his accomplished originals, while Hamill and Brown also get to flex their solo capabilities.
