Tchaikovsky, Borodin

The Finnish conductor Ari Rasilainen and his Norwegian orchestra deliver carefully prepared and decently recorded performances of Tchaikovsky’s Second and Borodin’s less-often-heard First symphonies. But neither the newly issued Tchaikovsky nor the already released Borodin has the individuality or orchestral élan to compete internationally. Keith Potter
