Mozart: Symphony No. 28; Symphony No. 29; Symphony No. 30; Symphony No. 40; Symphony No. 41

The performances here are immensely satisfying and the sound quality is excellent. Symphonies Nos. 40 and 41, the last Mozart wrote, have more emotional power and depth, and the contrapuntal textures are realised with a clarity which never sounds austere. The grace and charm of the earlier symphonies are equally aptly expressed. Nicholas Rast
