Mozart/Schubert

Don’t be fooled into thinking these performances merely dated. The Mozart, while lacking the magic brought to it by some period-instrument players, is acutely sensitive to the drama and poetry of this sublime masterpiece. The Trout is indulgent only in the way the ends of some variations in the fourth movement slow up too much in anticipation of the next. Otherwise, plenty of musicality of a high order. Keith Potter
