Ravel: Daphnis et Chloé; Alborada del gracioso; Boléro

Here’s a generous helping of Ravel with the LSO in its heyday under Abbado. There’s a lush and fulsomely articulated Daphnis followed by an exhilarating account of the Alborada which gives many of the principal players an opportunity to shine. A thrilling Boléro, meticulously judged in tempo and dynamics, is the icing on the patisserie. Good value all round. Christopher Fifield
