Six Degrees Records is an exploratory American label that has come up with a couple of interesting unclassifiables. Karsh Kale’s drum-and-bass mixes are crammed with South Asian solos, including some fetching vocals and sarangi playing by Ramesh Misra and Sultan Khan.

If you like Talvin Singh you’ll enjoy this distinctive, rather downbeat approach to similar ground. One reservation is that the surface changes restlessly in a short-attention-span way, though some of the myriad samples return or develop. Not intense, but engaging.
