On Saturday 19 July 2014 André Rieu’s 10th Anniversary Concert will be screened worldwide by satellite.
The concert, which celebrates ten years of Rieu’s summer evening concerts in Maastricht, will be shown in 350 cinemas in the UK and Ireland, including selected Odeon, Cineworld and Vue venues. Over 1000 cinemas across 35 countries will broadcast the event worldwide.
In an open air concert at Vrijthof in Maastricht the violinist will conduct his Johann Strauss Orchestra amidst firework displays and light shows.
Presenter Charlotte Hawkins will host the evening as well as conducting an exclusive interview with Rieu following his performance.
Rieu said: ‘My 10th anniversary hometown concert is very dear to me heart and I wish everyone could be here to help us celebrate. However, if you can’t join us in Maastricht, I hope I can touch your heart by bringing this special evening to you, on the big screen in your local cinema.’
Note: the screenings in Australia and New Zealand will take place on 26 & 27 July
