Blues Blast

Blues Blast

Female blues guitarists are hard to find, but Debbie Davies has been around for decades, currently leading a set of 12-bar tracks in a rousing, classic sound complete with wheezy organ that will stir the souls of listeners who learned their electric blues in the John Mayall-Eric Clapton years.

There are solos by fellow guitarists Tab Benoit and Coco Montoya, and Charlie Musselwhite on harmonica. Davies’s singing is more professional than inspiring, but it’s her and the others’ playing that pins back the ears.
