The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment has announced a new education scheme for young singers.

Rising Stars will give four young singers the opportunity to work with renowned conductors and singers including William Christie, Roderick Williams and Mary Bevan, and perform with the orchestra throughout the 2017-2018 season. The scheme will culminate for the young artists with a solo performance at the Royal Festival Hall, accompanied by the OAE.

Auditions will take place in February in front of a five-strong panel industry experts, OAE players and Rising Stars patron, Mark Padmore.

‘Life can be tough for young singers,’ says Padmore, who is the Rising Stars patron. ‘This scheme is designed to help them to learn about and understand the world and environment in which they will live and work.’
