Oliver Dowden, secretary of state for digital, culture, media and sport, has announced the reopening of outdoor concert venues and theatres following the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent UK lockdown.

'As of this weekend, our artists, musicians and dancers can start performing outside to outdoor audiences', he said in today's Downing Street press conference.

The UK government is currently looking into how to making social distancing measures possible at indoor performances.

This comes after the announcement of a £1.57 billion bailout of the arts industry from the UK government earlier this week.
