A Late Quartet is a new film from director Yaron Zilberman exploring a turbulent time in the life of a world-renowned string quartet. Their cellist has just been diagnosed with Parkinson's, and after 25 years playing together the fictional Fugue Quartet faces its possible end.
Starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Christopher Walken, among others, A Late Quartet is out in cinemas on 5 April 2013 (certificate 15).
And in our May issue, on sale 10 April, we talk to members of today's leading quartets about the extreme demands of what they do.
