Brahms: Violin Sonata in G, Op. 78; Violin Sonata in A, Op. 100; Violin Sonata in D minor, Op. 108

Despite the stature and number of the opposition this is actually a pretty recommendable version. Steinberg, a 30-year-old Russian who recorded the disc in Scotland, has a heroic tone, plenty of technique, obviously feels these sonatas passionately, and is served by a really beautiful and vivid recording.
