The Kent-based Crowther Wind Quintet has enterprisingly issued its own CD, devoted – the masterly Poulenc Sextet apart – to the lighter end of the repertoire, including several ingenious arrangements. The performances hardly have the polish of more established ensembles, but convey the sheer enjoyment of wind quintet playing. Anthony Burton
