Goetz: Piano Quartet in E, Op. 6; Piano Trio in G minor, Op. 1; Piano Quintet in C minor, Op. 16; Three Easy Pieces, Op. 2

In Hermann Goetz’s short-lived career (1840-76) he composed excellent examples of opera, symphony, concerto and chamber music. Beautifully played here by eminent American musicians, these are highly recommended performances of an unjustly neglected composer much admired by Brahms. Christopher Fifield
