Milhaud, Fauré, Saint Sa‘ns, Debussy, Poulenc, Ravel, Pierné & Messager

The highlight here is Poulenc’s Duo Sonata for two clarinets, which is a delightfully entertaining miniature. Of the remaining works, Milhaud’s lightweight Duo Concertant is the most convincing, though in general the playing lacks finesse and subtlety, resulting in rather imaginative performances.
