INow we come to the finalists in this year's competition for the coveted title of 'Christmas Disc from Hell'. This year's outright winner has to be BLUE XMAS (Evidence ECD 26118-2, £15.99) - not, sadly, a brand-new collection of carols about angels caught in compromising positions with Santa's little helpers, but a set of 16 blues instrumentals on seasonal songs so brutally thrashed out by 30 of 'America's finest' that they're quite obscene enough in their own unmusical way. Blue Xmas is duly declared the Total Turkey of 2002.
