Sally Mayes is one of New York's best kept secrets. A first-rate comedienne with a well-placed, sweet theatrical mezzo, she was a sensation in the New York revival of She Loves Me, where her performance as the friend who loved not wisely but too well reached a much broader audience than she had previously enjoyed.
It also gained her a Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony nomination which, although she didn't win, gave her the confidence to tackle other theatrical music.
