De Monte

Philippe de Monte (1521-1603) wrote excellent and varied music, and this choir is a great throng of voices. It is at its very best in the lulling absolutions and erotic harmonies of Peccavi super numerum, but rather uneasy in the agile Angelus Domine and unhappy in the labyrinths of the Mass. Anthony Pryer
