Roots Revisited

With Brown in jail, his leading horn player, saxophonist MACEO PARKER, had the chance to make a name for himself.

The concert from the 1991 Roots Revisited tour shows the tight, funky sound that Brown demanded from his horn section, and although Parker's bassless line-up is disconcerting at fitst, there's colour and drive from the organ and the saxes and trombone have all the space to blow hard.
