Eller: Preludes (complete)

Vardo Rumessen gives sympathetic, well-balanced accounts of these preludes by his Estonian countryman Eller. Earlier ones are driven by a remorseless, exhausting logic, later giving way to an oblique, lyrical style that recalls Scriabin. An obscure but worthy oeuvre. Christopher Wood
