Ludford: Missa Christi virgo dillectissima; Domine Ihesu Christe

This is the third volume in ASVs revelatory series in which a Ludford Mass is sung widi plainsong Propers for a particular church feast (in this case, the Annunciation). The five-voice Mass Christi virgo dilectissima is smaller in scale than we have heard in previous volumes, but lacks few of the qualities which make this music so enjoyable. The singing is strong and confident, and aided by quite an 'upfront' sound. Edward Kershaw
