Ockeghem, Anon

The works of Johannes Ockeghem (d1497) have been brought alive in a wonderful series of recordings by this group. Here, the lovely but tricky Missa caput is surefooted and spacious – though some of the added accidentals might shock. And although the querulous chanson ‘Ma maistresse’ is a mite unstable, the little Mass based on it is perfect. Anthony Pryer
