You can’t doubt the sincerity of the interpretations of these lyric soprano scenes from Roméo, Mireille, Les pêcheurs de perles, La traviata and other staples. Nor can you fault Domingo’s generous support from the podium. But even the inclusion of a Romanian operatic excerpt can’t compensate for Vaduva’s intrusive vibrato and wavering pitch.
