Flautist Grégoire Jeay’s obbligato in ‘Sweet bird that shun’st the noise of folly’ (L’Allegro) is delectable, while Gauvin’s impeccable coloratura and sharp-sweet-creamy raspberry ripple soprano fit this aria like a designer glove.
