Mozart: Die Zauberflöte

This excellent recording was first released in 1984, then re-packaged in 1991 for Mozart’s bicentenary, and is now reissued at bargain price without the dialogue, which was spoken by actors. Schreier’s Tamino is exquisitely sung and Price’s Pamina and Moll’s Sarastro are superb. Davis and the Dresden Staatskapelle bring a wonderful breadth and poignancy to the score. Elise McDougall
