Schreker: Das Weib des Intaphernes; Symphony in A minor, Op. 1; Psalm116

The most interesting work here is the late melodrama, Intaphernes’s Wife, not premiered until 1990 and effectively a half-hour operatic scene every bit as intoxicating as his larger-scale dramas. The Symphony is an immediately forgettable student work mixing Brahms and Bruckner. Performances are all excellent. Matthew Rye
