Bass-enthusiasts should rush out and buy. Boguslaw Furtok is a terrific player: agile, fiery and strong-toned (though the recording helps by placing him well forward). Others are going to find most of it pretty vacuous – at least until the Gran duo passione amorosa (a kind of operatic love scene for two suave hippopotamuses); tosh, but very nicely done.
