Gyrowetz: Symphony in E flat. Op. 6/2; Symphony in F, Op. 6/3; Symphony in D, Op. 12/1

These are first recordings of three attractive early symphonies by the Bohemian-born Adalbert Gyrowetz (1763-1850), clearly influenced in their purposeful developments and deft wind scoring by his idol and mentor Haydn. The LMP's spirited performances lose a little edge in the resonant acoustic. Anthony Burton
