Stravinsky, Britten

In expanding its admirable catalogue Naxos seems to have missed the economic point here. Why cut off such a compilation at less than an hour? But what is offered comes with flair. Bartók’s Divertimento shows how brilliantly Bournemouth’s strings can respond to a gifted conductor. Through all four works the technical recording excites with an almost tactile impact of bow on string. Arthur Jacobs
