Brahms/Dvorak: Symphony No. 4; Symphony No. 8

Brahms/Dvorak: Symphony No. 4; Symphony No. 8

Recorded in the last years of Munch’s tenure with the Boston Symphony, these performances, which have transferred well, are both strong and direct. The Dvorák, however, is noticeably fuller, with a vigour and robustness not entirely lacking in the Brahms – particularly in the fourth movement. A generous coupling: good value. Nicholas Rast
