Handel: Organ Concerto Op. 4; Organ Concerto Op. 7

Tachezi offers stylish and musicianly accounts of these concertos, and Harnoncourt’s Concentus Musicus provides first-rate support. Tachezi’s playing often has a fine swagger, and tasteful ornamentation abounds. On occasion he allows tempos to rush and dotted rhythms become over-clipped. Recorded sound is good, if a little dry. For sheer flair, he cannot displace either Koopman (Erato) or Hurford (Decca), both of whom are given more favourable acoustical settings.Stephen Haylett
