Handel: Water Music

Here is Handel’s Water Music complete in a delightfully fresh, no-nonsense approach, with natural rather than aggressive ‘authenticity’. Crisp tempi bring all the bounce and poise that this music requires. There is fine playing, particularly from the bassoons, oboes and horns, but exasperatingly no clue as to who the individual performers are. In a competitive field, this performance is well recorded and well worth the purchase. Annette Morreau
