Consistently impressive readings of the two Haydn concertos from the Norwegian virtuoso Truls Mørk. Admittedly, there’s plenty here for advocates of authenticity to baulk at, but Mørk’s affectionate yet resilient treatment of the C major work is immediately captivating. The D major Concerto receives a sterling, if rather forthright performance from Mørk, who plays the customary Gendron cadenza in the opening movement. He receives exemplary support throughout from the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra directed by Iona Brown. Recorded sound is in the demonstration class, despite the slightly over-reverberant ambience of the Uranienborg Church, Oslo. Michael Jameson
