Praetorius etc

This is a delightful collection. The Terpsichore dances, which have no set instrumentation, are imaginatively scored here by Munrow. Sample the colourful textural variety of the two suites (tracks six and nine). The secular songs, taken from the collection Art of the Netherlands, provide an interesting and balanced contrast. The different vocal and instrumental settings of the same piece are of particular value. The clear, well-balanced recording provides natural lighting for these excellent performances. Nicholas Rast
