A delightful recital, all the more valuable for including mostly lesser-known examples of Scarlatti’s miraculously varied keyboard art. Leonhardt plays a modern copy of a 1745 Dulcken harpsichord. Rhythms are crisp and springy and each of the sonatas is delivered with terrific flair and imagination, making them compelling listening. David Michaels
