Finally, the adventurous British bassist Jah Wobble follows his 2008 Chinese-dub foray with ‘Japanese Dub’. He’s assimilated the Japanese concepts of ‘ma’ and ‘jo-ha-kyu’ (sensory space, and dynamic movement), and given them shape with a group of like-minded musicians, who provide everything from Shinto shrine music to gagaku, all joyfully laced with Western dance rhythms, and it works a treat.
