Guinea-Bissau, south of Senegal, is the home of JORGE DA SILVA BIDINTE, who went to Madrid to make this debut album with a variety of colleagues and locals, including flamenco guitarists, electric bass and a sax.

 

At times the music sounds like Latin-American might have done if it had developed in Africa instead, but over it all presides Bidinte’s forthright, always melancholy voice to confirm the personal vision of his songs.
