Salegy is the name of the style, and it features a fast interplay of compound and simple times in a guitar-led adaptation which has proved highly durable. The group’s recorded here on a visit to Réunion with local brass and an appearance by one of the island’s stars, Granmoun Lélé. Two of the tracks relax – slightly – but not for long.
