They sing a lot better than ‘Ing-er-landers’, but the timbre is unmistakable and echoes the genuine crowd noises that punctuate the disc. These you really can’t get away from without giving your fast-forward finger RSI, since they are stuck on to the end of each tune along with stadium bands and snatches of astonishingly intense radio commentary – some of the more orgasmic cries of ‘Goal!’ are entertainingly remixed in a studio track. It’s a classic of sorts, but strictly for after-pub use.
