BOHINTA’s contemporary take on Irish tradition starts from original songs and a live basis for the external elements, which are basically taken from early rock – there’s even a Hammond organ.
The music is slow but alert, and quietly focused. Flute, violin and cello are among the supporting characters along with the persuasive voices of Martin Furey in one of its several incarnations (he’s in albums launched alongside this by another label, Skitteesh) and Aine Furey.
