Chango Spasiuk – Pynandi

Chango Spasiuk – Pynandi

The new and long-awaited disc by accordionist Chango Spasiuk confirms him as the leading exponent of chamamé – the lovely, surging folk music of north-eastern Argentina.

Spasiuk’s erudite but still ‘barefooted’ take on this rustic genre will appeal strongly to classical music lovers, especially on ‘Cadenza & Fuga’, featuring violinist Victor Renaudeau’s high harmonics and jaw-dropping manoeuvres.
