La Sal de la Vida

La Sal de la Vida

LA SAL DE LA VIDA brings together woman singers from Galicia, Castile and Sudan with a Galician flamenco guitarist, Xesús Pimentel. The accent is on blending in rather than striking sparks, and the music has a quiet sense of mutual listening that grows on you insistently.

The lightly vibrant Salgado is the most ‘European Spanish’ of them, Uxía the most distinctive and powerful, and between them all they show a flair for strong material that ranges from a cappella to robust folk melody. Tracks 9 and 10 are listed in reverse order.
