Many choirs have been performing and recording the carol, Lullay, my liking, that we commissioned exclusively from British composer Thomas Hewitt Jones for our Christmas issue.

You can watch Hewitt Jones himself conducting Boosey & Hawkes staff in the carol here and the most recent recording, which you can hear below, comes from Bristol-based mixed-voice choir, the Exultate Singers. This beautiful performance with conductor David Ogden took place at St James Priory in Bristol and was recorded by Tammara Leaney-Bell and Laura Montarroso from University of the West of England.

Exultate Singers was formed in September 2002 by David Ogden and has 40 members. The choir has made several recordings, including the world premiere recording of Roxanna Panufnik’s All Shall be Well, and performs regularly around the UK.

If you would like your own choir to sing Thomas Hewitt Jones's Lullay, my liking, pick up our Christmas issue or download the score here. Send a recording or video to music@classical-music.com or to us via Wetransfer.
