'Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace' is one of SS Wesley's most famous anthems and has been performed on many state occasions, including the coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953.

The lyrics were taken from Isaiah 26:3, Psalm 139:11, I John 1:5b, Psalm 119:175a and Matthew 6:13.

SS Wesley was an English organist and composer, and the grandson of the famous hymn writer Charles Wesley

'Thou Wilt Keep Him in Perfect Peace' lyrics

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee,
The darkness is no darkness with Thee,
But the night is as clear as the day:
The darkness and the light to Thee are both alike.
God is light and with Him is no darkness at all.
Oh let my soul live and it shall praise Thee.
For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, for evermore.
